1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugars together, beating well. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a large bowl, stir remaining ingredients together. Add to butter mixture. Mix together. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Arrange cookie balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with a floured fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden.
