Pinwheels – Wisconsin State Fair Winner
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 TBSP. milk
1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted
Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and milk. Divide dough in half. Mix chocolate into half. Chill. Roll white dough 1/8inch thick on floured surface. Roll chocolate the same way and place on top of white dough. Roll as for jelly roll; wrap in wax paper. Chill overnight. Cut in 1/8inch slices; place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes.
