Raisin Bran Cookies – Fresno County Fair Winner

1 butter, room temperature
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 TBSP. milk
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup 100% bran cereal
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
3/4 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together oleo and sugars until smooth and creamy. Beat in egg, vanilla and milk until fluffy. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda and mix with cereal. Stir into creamed mixture until well blended. Stir in nuts and raisins. drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-13 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
